The Catalyst 9000 Series spans the campus network, and the three ranges we work with divide by where they sit: the 9200 at the access layer, the 9300 at access and aggregation, and the 9500 at aggregation and core. Choosing between them is a question of role, port speed and whether you need PoE, not of which number is higher.

Individual networking products are not listed on this site yet. Availability of any particular model is confirmed by quote rather than published here, so the fastest route is to request a quote.

What to tell us

  • Role — access, aggregation or core.
  • Model or part number — the exact SKU if you have it, or the range and the role it must fill.
  • Port speeds and count — 1G, 10G, 25G or higher, and how many.
  • PoE — PoE or PoE+, and the total power budget if known.
  • Uplinks — SFP, SFP+ or QSFP, and whether transceivers or cables are needed.
  • Quantity — and whether it is a one-off or a repeat requirement.
  • Compatibility — what this has to work alongside.
  • Licensing — tell us which software tier your design needs. We can report the software version present on a quoted unit, but TekBoost supplies the hardware only: Cisco software licences and subscriptions are not included and are not sold by TekBoost, and must be obtained separately from Cisco or an authorised Cisco partner where they are required.

Put the technical detail in the Quote Details field and the volume in Estimated Quantity.

Ranges: Catalyst 9200, Catalyst 9300 and Catalyst 9500. For the data centre see Nexus.

Choosing between the three families

The 9200 vs 9300 vs 9500 comparison sets out where each belongs and what actually separates them — stacking bandwidth from StackWise-80 up to StackWise-1T, fixed against modular uplinks, the PoE budgets Cisco publishes, and the fact that the 9500 data sheet lists no PoE at all.

Two specifics that decide most quotes have their own pages: PoE and power budgets and uplinks and optics.

See all ranges on the networking hub. Networking equipment bought through a TekBoost quote carries our standard 3-year warranty — buying by quote rather than from an online listing makes no difference to cover — subject to the terms, exclusions and conditions on that page. Manufacturer warranty, software licensing and support entitlements are separate and are not included.
