The 9200 is Cisco's entry point into the Catalyst 9000 family: fixed 24- or 48-port configurations with 1G copper access ports, PoE+ on supported SKUs, and fixed SFP or SFP+ uplinks. It's built for the access layer, not aggregation or core.

9200 vs. 9200L
The distinction matters: the standard 9200 takes field-replaceable uplink modules and supports StackWise-160 stacking, while the 9200L is a lower-cost, fixed-uplink variant aimed at smaller deployments. If you need to stack switches or want flexibility in uplink type later, the standard 9200 is the one to specify.
